CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Wednesday at home in non-conference play.
UMFK (1-4-1) controlled the tempo in the opening half, finishing with a 6-2 shot advantage, and netted the eventual game-winning goal in the final seconds of the first half.
Maine Maritime (7-2) held a 5-4 shot edge in the second half and put three shots on frame but could not find the back of the net to tie the match.
The Mariners will face the University of Maine at Farmington on the road Saturday at noon in North Atlantic Conference action.
