CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy volleyball team picked up a 3-0 nonconference victory over the University of Maine at Fort Kent at home Tuesday evening.
Maine Maritime (13-5) opened with a 25-15 first-set win before rolling to back-to-back 25-7 victories to complete the sweep of UMFK (4-12).
Junior
Sydney Williams led the way for the Mariners with 20 kills, hitting an impressive .692 for the match, while senior
Sophia Biggie added 11 kills and posted a .667 attack percentage.

Ila Smith chipped in five kills, and senior
Hunnie Zuber-Stephens tallied 23 assists, three service aces and six digs. Junior
Ally Hadley recorded an 11-assist, 10-dig double-double and added five service aces, while sophomore
Hannah Tate contributed 10 digs and six assists.
The Mariners return to North Atlantic Conference action Thursday, traveling to Thomas College for a 6 p.m. start.
