CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team battled Colby College to a 3-1 loss at home Wednesday evening in nonconference action.
Colby (7-2-3) took a 1-0 lead just before halftime, scoring in the 41st minute against Maine Maritime (9-5-0).
The Mules finished the opening half with an 11-2 shot advantage as junior goalkeeper
Isa Thesing turned away four scoring opportunities.
Maine Maritime came out attacking in the second half, drawing an early corner kick. Freshman
Tarin Barrett served the ball into Colby's eight-yard box, where junior
Bella Scolaro headed it into the top right corner to tie the game at 1-1.
After a 10-minute deadlock, Colby regained the lead in the 60th minute and later converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute to seal the 3-1 win.
The Mules held a 22-5 edge in total shots, but the Mariners made the most of their chances, putting three on frame and scoring on one.

Maine Maritime hosts the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday for Senior Day beginning at noon.
