CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer team closed out its 2025 regular season on Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Husson University.
Husson (7-8-4, 7-1-1 NAC) scored twice in the 29th and 31st minutes of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference matchup to take a 2-0 lead into halftime of Maine Maritime (6-4-5, 4-2-3 NAC).
The Eagles extended their advantage to 3-0 with a goal in the 50th minute, but senior
John-John Dickenson got the Mariners on the board in the 74th minute, finishing a toe-tap goal off a pass from junior
James Baur to make it 3-1.
Husson responded with a goal in the 90th minute to push the lead to 4-1, but Dickenson struck again seconds later for his ninth goal of the season to close the gap to 4-2. The early damage, however, proved too much to overcome as Husson held on for the win.
The Eagles finished with a 14-8 advantage in total shots and a 9-6 edge in shots on goal.
Freshman
Kole Wayman recorded five saves in net, while Dickenson led the Mariners with five shots, including four on target.
Prior to the match, Maine Maritime recognized seniors
