MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced the recipients of the 2025 NCAA Women's Scholar All-American Awards. Maine Maritime Academy sophomore Bethany Ives (Hallowell, Maine/Hall-Dale High School), a marine transportation operations major, becomes the first honoree in Mariners women's wrestling history.
Ives joins scores of outstanding student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following academic and athletic criteria:
- A top eight placer at nationals and at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average
- Competed in a minimum of 15 matches that are recorded in TRACKWRESTLING and has at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA
- Was a national qualifier and has at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA
"The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well," said NWCA executive director Mike Moyer.
Ives, who is also a starting midfielder for the Maine Maritime women's soccer squad, sports a perfect GPA.
