How it Happened
- Just like the 22-mile-per-hour westerly winds at game time, MMA breezed by the visitors early and often by jumping out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Dunstan and Lappin provided the spark with man-up goals 1 minute and 51 seconds apart with 6 minutes and 18 seconds left.
- In the second quarter, Lappin and Spear increased the Mariners' advantage to 6-0 by halftime.
- Trailing 7-0, Jason Martin got Lasell on the scoreboard at the 11:25 mark of the third quarter and Condon scored at 3:32 to make it 7-2.
- The Mariners left no doubt in the fourth when they outscored the Lasers 5-1.
- Marcil wrapped up MMA's scoring with a man-down goal with 4:43 left in the game on a nice feed from sophomore defender Finnian O'Donnell.
- Lasell had advantages in shots (44-34), shots on goal (24-20), clears (18-22/24-34) and ground balls (42-36), but MMA killed off all eight man-up opportunities for the Lasers who were stymied by Noyes all afternoon.
