CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy Sailing Program announced its 2025 fall schedule on Friday, featuring 24 races, including two home events.
"MMA sailing has an exciting lineup this fall with a full slate of women's and open dinghy, Navy 44, and PHRF events," said head sailing coach
Patrick DiLalla. "Thanks to strong leadership from our captains and a talented, enthusiastic group of first-year sailors, the energy is excellent right now. A substantial wave of success is building for this season and beyond."
The Mariners open their season at home on Sept. 6–7 with the two-day Penobscot Bay Open and Harman Cup.
Following their home opener, MMA hits the road for a packed weekend on Sept. 13, competing at the Shield Trophy (U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.), Regis Trophy (Harvard, Cambridge, Mass.), Hatch Brown Trophy (MIT, Cambridge, Mass.) and the Barnett Trophy (Bowdoin, Harpswell, Maine).
The following weekend, Sept. 20–21, the Mariners will race in the NEISA Match Race Championship (U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn.), as well as the Callagy Ross (University of Vermont), Mrs. Hurst Bowl (Dartmouth) and the Hoyt Trophy (Brown).
MMA will also sail the Bowdoin Mid-Week Invite on Sept. 25 before splitting squads for Sept. 27–28. The women's team heads to the Women's ACC Round 1 (Navy), while another group competes at the Maritime Fall Open (Maritime College, Throggs Neck, N.Y.).
