Women’s soccer announces Bottie as assistant coach

CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy Women's Soccer Program announced the hiring of Anthony Bottie as a women's soccer assistant coach on Monday.

Bottie joins the Mariners after working as a youth soccer coach with River City Athletics in Bangor since 2021 and as a soccer coach at John Bapst Memorial High School beginning in that same year.

"We are super excited to have Coach Bottie on staff," head women's soccer coach Levi Evans said. "He brings a lot of coaching experience to MMA. Coach Bottie will be helping out everything soccer at MMA.

Prior to River City and John Bapst, Bottie served as the vice president for the University of Maine Soccer Club from 2018-20, organizing practice and game plans, assisting in scheduling games, travel and referees as well as running all external communication.

"I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to work with the women's soccer program here at MMA," Bottie said. "It's great to be in an environment full of highly driven students and faculty. I look forward to helping the players and program succeed both on-and-off the field."
