CASTINE, Maine — Senior Mayako Brown scored in the 60th minute to lift the Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Fisher College at home Friday in non-conference action.

Maine Maritime (5-0) dominated possession in the opening half, recording 17 shots, including five on goal, but was unable to break through as the teams went into halftime tied 0-0.

The Mariners came out strong after the break, pushing the pace and spreading the field. Brown slipped past the Falcons' defense and sent a low shot into the net for the eventual game-winning goal.

Maine Maritime held a 19-1 shot advantage in the second half and finished with 36 shots overall. Brown tallied six shots, while junior Abby Wong added nine, including three on goal.

The Mariners travel to Bay Path University on Sunday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
