Spaulding finishes top 20 at State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's cross-country team placed seventh overall Saturday at the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship hosted by Bowdoin College.

Sophomore William Spaulding led the Mariners with a top-20 performance, finishing 19th in 26:45.73.

Senior Cooper Parlee was the team's next finisher with a 27:42.86, followed by freshman Owen Dawson in 29:17.24.

Sophomore Caden Dussault crossed in 29:52.93, and junior Logan Serpico rounded out the scoring runners in 31:05.13.

Also competing for Maine Maritime were senior Kaden Horner; sophomore James Brubeck; freshman Asher Michalski; junior Joey Valliere; freshmen Matthew Tita, Daniel Soma and Trevor Beams; and seniors Jonathan Manning and Nate Campbell.

The Mariners return to action Oct. 4 at the North Atlantic Conference Preview Meet at Saxl Park in Bangor.
