WATERVILLE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 win over Thomas College on the road Saturday in North Atlantic Conference action.
Thomas (3-7-1, 2-2-0 NAC) struck first with a goal in the 22nd minute, but junior
Abby Wong converted a penalty kick in the 27th minute to tie the match at 1-1.
Maine Maritime (6-1-0, 3-0-0 NAC) broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when sophomore
Hadley Stoddard scored the eventual game-winner, lifting the Mariners to their third straight conference victory.
The Mariners outshot the Terriers 22-10 overall and 18-4 on goal.
Thomas finished with 16 saves in net, while junior
Isa Thesing recorded three saves in 90 minutes for Maine Maritime.
Stoddard registered eight shots, all on goal, while Wong added four shots, including three on frame.
Maine Maritime returns home Wednesday to host the University of Maine at Fort Kent at 5 p.m.
