ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Maine Maritime Academy football team opened its 2025 season on the road Saturday with a 56-7 loss to Hartwick College.
Hartwick (1-0) opened with 14 unanswered first-quarter points, but MMA (0-1) capitalized on a Hawks turnover midway through the second quarter to cut the deficit to 14-7. Sophomore
Auston Harris ripped off a 30-yard touchdown run, breaking several tackles on his way to the end zone.
The Hawks responded with 14 more points before halftime to carry a 28-7 lead into the break. They closed out the second half with 28 unanswered points to secure the win.
Harris finished with 75 yards on 19 carries, while sophomore Will Keach recorded four catches for 48 yards. Freshman

Kurt Coen grabbed an interception to give the Mariners two takeaways.

MMA will have a bye week before traveling to Northfield, Vermont, on Sept. 20 for a matchup against Norwich University. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
