CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team dropped a 69–58 decision to the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference action.
Maine Maritime (8-5, 8-1 NAC) struggled to find consistency from the floor, shooting 27.7 percent overall and 16.7 percent from three-point range. Maine Maritime finished 7-for-12 from the free-throw line and battled on the glass throughout the contest against Farmington (10-3, 8-1 NAC).
Sophomore
Addison Forry led the Mariners with 15 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double performance. Junior
Hailey Blanchard added 10 points, while senior
Evelyn Dagan scored nine points and senior
Sydney Loring contributed eight points and seven rebounds. Senior
Jacquelin Castro chipped in five points as Maine Maritime worked to stay within reach.
Farmington held a 37–32 advantage at halftime and used steady scoring in the fourth quarter to pull away. Despite the shooting struggles, the Mariners remained close throughout the contest, but UMF used a 22-7 run in the fourth quarter to come away with the 69-58 decision.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Monday, hosting the University of Maine at Fort Kent at home.
