SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. — The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its 2026 Preseason Watch List on Monday for Divisions, I, II and III and Maine Maritime Academy sophomore
Tobey Lappin and freshman
Davison Naylor was recognized.
The reigning North Atlantic Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, Lappin finished second in the league in goals with 62 and second on the team with 83 points. Lappin earned NAC all-conference first team honors and helped the Mariners win the NAC tournament championship and advance to the NCAA tournament.
Naylor, a freshman from Sparrow Point, Maryland is trending to be an impact defender for the Mariners, stepping into a unit that graduated two starters last spring. He plays with tremendous poise and athletic footwork, has the ability to play on an island against skilled dodgers, and possesses the lacrosse acumen to thrive within a schematic team defense.
The Preseason Watch List is replacing the NEILA All-New England Preseason Teams, and is intended to give greater exposure and more balanced representation to all of the teams and student-athletes in New England. Each New England team was permitted to submit one returning student-athlete and one incoming student-athlete (freshman or transfer) to be included on the 2026 NEILA Preseason Watch List.
The Mariners begin their 2026 season on the road Feb. 21 against the University of New England beginning at 1 p.m.
