ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maine Maritime Academy men's swimming & diving capped off Friday night with a pair of relay finals appearances at the 2026 Eastern College Athletic Conference Open Championship, highlighted by a ninth-place finish in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay and a 10th-place showing in the men's 400 medley relay.
In the 200 freestyle relay B final, the quartet of freshman
Timmy Reda, senior
Aidan Burke, freshman
Connor Hedstrom and senior
Oliver Cox clocked a 1 minute, 29.48 seconds to place ninth overall and earn 18 team points. Reda led off in 23.12 seconds, followed by Burke (22.85 split), Hedstrom (21.42) and Cox (22.09) as the Mariners improved from their prelim time of 1:33.00.
Maine Maritime closed the session in the 400 medley relay, where freshman
Dominic Miele, Reda, Hedstrom and senior James Creegan combined for a 3:39.95 in the B final. The time was an improvement from their 3:47.21 prelim swim and placed 10th overall, adding 14 points to the Mariners' total.
Through 12 events, Maine Maritime sits 11th in the men's team standings with 37 points and returns to the pool on Saturday for day 2 of the ECAC Open Championship.
