LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Maine Maritime Academy delivered a dominant performance on the road, cruising past Vermont State University Lyndon 90-49 on Friday night. The Mariners built a commanding lead early and never looked back, outscoring the Hornets in every quarter en route to a decisive North Atlantic Conference win.
Maine Maritime (15-8 overall, 14-2 North Atlantic) shot efficiently from the floor, connecting on 46.4 percent of its field goals and over 52 percent from 3-point range, while holding VTSU-Lyndon (13-8, 8-6 NAC) to just 27.6 percent shooting. Maine Maritime also controlled the glass and shared the ball effectively, finishing with 48 rebounds and 18 assists on the night. The defense pressured throughout, forcing turnovers and limiting the Hornets' scoring chances.
