CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy football team announced its upcoming 2026 schedule on Tuesday featuring 10 games, five of which will be played within the friendly confines of Ritchie Field.
"We're excited about the challenge our upcoming schedule presents — it's a competitive slate that will test us early and demand consistency every single week," head football coach
Nick Sheehan said. "Our staff and players have embraced that, and there's real energy in our building about the growth and opportunity this season brings. We're especially fired up to start the year with the renewal of the Admiral's Cup against Massachusetts Maritime — it's a rivalry that means a lot to both programs and a tremendous way to kick off the season."
The Mariners open the season on the road Sept. 5 when they travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy as the two historic programs resume their annual admirals cup.
Following Mass Maritime, MMA will have a bye week before traveling to Vermont State University Castleton on Sept. 19.
MMA welcomes Curry College to Castine on Sept. 26 for both its home opener and Conference of New England Opener.
The month of October opens with a road matchup against Nichols College on Oct. 3 before returning home on Oct. 10 for a nonconference matchup against Norwich University.
The Mariners travel to the University of New England on Oct. 17 and host New England College on Oct. 24 before closing out the month of October at home against defending conference champion Endicott College on Oct. 31.
Following Endicott, MMA takes to the road on Nov. 7 to battle Western New England University and closes out its 2026 regular-season schedule at home against Husson University on Nov. 11.
