CASTINE, Maine — Roger Williams University scored an 11-6 victory over Maine Maritime Academy in a non-conference men's lacrosse game at Ritchie Field.
Maine Maritime (2-1) were competitive early but could not sustain the momentum against Roger Williams (1-3), who outpaced them in the middle quarters to secure the win.

Ryan Parent tallied two goals and sophomore
Tristan Reinhold also found the back of the net to give MMA a 3-2 advantage after 15 minutes.
In the second quarter, the Mariners maintained a one-goal cushion as Marcil scored two unassisted markers, including a tally late in the stanza to make it 5-3. However, Roger Williams rallied with four goals in the period to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.
Maritime tied the game at 6-6 early in the third quarter on another Marcil goal, but that would be its final score of the afternoon. Roger Williams struck for five unanswered goals over the final 25 minutes — including back-to-back scores early in the third and late in the fourth — to pull away.
In net, sophomore
Ben Kieu recorded 19 saves, while Marcil led the Mariners offensively with four points (three goals, one assist), Parent contributed two goals, and Reinhold added one goal in the loss.
The Mariners will look to rebound in their next contest when they travel to the University of New England on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. in-state showdown.
