PAXTON, Mass. — Maine Maritime Academy used a dominant offensive performance and control in every phase to roll past Anna Maria College, 28-10, in North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action on Sunday morning.
With the win, the Mariners improved to 8-5 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 4-0, while Anna Maria dropped to 1-13 overall and 0-3 in league action.
Maine Maritime wasted little time taking control, scoring four goals in a span of just over two minutes in the opening quarter to build an early cushion. The Mariners led 9-2 after the first quarter and continued to pour it on with nine more goals in the second to take an 18-4 halftime lead.
The Mariners' offense was fueled by a balanced and explosive attack, finishing with 28 goals on 83 shots, including 50 on goal. Maine Maritime also dominated possession, winning 36 of 40 faceoffs and holding a commanding 72-30 edge in ground balls.

Ryan Parent led the way with six goals and two assists, while senior
Trey Marcil delivered a standout all-around performance with four goals and a game-high seven assists. Sophomore

Maine Maritime was especially effective on extra-man opportunities, converting 7 of 8 chances, while also going 23-for-28 on clears.

Johannes Zachhuber split time in net, combining for 12 saves in the victory. Crowell dominated on the faceoff going a perfect 27-27 with 17 ground balls.
Despite a more competitive fourth quarter, in which Anna Maria scored five times, the outcome was never in doubt as Maine Maritime maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half.
Overall, Maine Maritime controlled the tempo from start to finish, using strong faceoff play, efficient extra-man execution and a relentless offense to secure the decisive conference victory.
The Mariners now turn their attention to Husson University on Saturday in a NAC showdown for the opportunity to host the NAC playoffs.
