Marcil, Parent headline NAC men’s lacrosse, 11 players earn postseason honors

WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference announced its men's lacrosse all-conference awards on Thursday and Maine Maritime Academy had 11 players earned postseason honors.

Senior Trey Marcil headlined the list taking home senior scholar athlete of the year and all-conference first team attack. Marcil maintained a 3.70 GPA in marine transportation operations and passed his Coast Guard exam midway through his senior year. Additionally, Marcil earned the Mariners Athletics prestigious leader of the year award for the 2025-26 season.

Off the field: Marcil was a 2026 Maine Maritime Academy Athletic Integration Award finalist and serves as the team tutor and a two-time captain. A 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and three-time NAC academic all-conference recipient. He is a four-year member of the Regiment of Midshipmen, where he served as a 3rd and 2nd Class Stryker. He was the Alpha Company Commander on campus and during junior cruise, and an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition, Trey completed his summer Cadet Shipping with American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC), transiting the East Coast of Central and South America from Galveston, Texas to various ports in Brazil.

On the field: Marcil led the Mariners and the NAC with 84 points and 6.00 points per game. Marcil also racked up a league-best 50 assists for a 3.57 assists per game average and finished the season with 34 goals, ranking ninth in the league with 2.43 goals per game. Marcil scored 34 goals on only 54 shots on goal and played a scoring role in 84 of the teams 200 goals. Additionally, Marcil earned NAC player of the week honors three times and tallied 48 ground balls, nine caused turnovers. Marcil also earned NAC all-conference second-team honors in 2025.

Freshman Ryan Parent claimed rookie of the year and first team attack honors after finishing the season with a team-high 48 goals finishing second in the league and third with a 3.43 goals per game average. Parent posted 25 assists and finished second on the team with 73 points, adding 45 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Parent finished sixth in the league with 1.79 assists per game and third with 5.21 points per game earning NAC rookie of the week five times and being named to the NEILA team of the week three times. In league games, Parent was at his best, leading the conference with 5.20 goals per game and finishing second with 8.40 points per game and third with 3.20 assists.

Sophomore Tobey Lappin was selected to the all-conference first team attack, finishing third on the team with 43 points, 19 assists and 62 points, ranking fourth in the league in goals per game, ninth in assists and sixth in points. Lappin posted 51 ground balls and four caused turnovers and ranked third in the league with 4.20 goals per game in league matchups, adding 1.80 assists (eighth), 6.00 points (fifth) and 5.00 ground balls (fifth).

Junior Ryker Spear took home first team midfield honors, finishing fourth on the team with 17 goals and 23 points, adding six assists, 26 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Sophomore Tristan Reinhold received second team midfield recognition after finishing the season with 14 goals and two assists, adding 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Junior Matthew Villeneuve also earned second team honors at long stick midfield, posting a team-high 26 caused turnovers, adding 43 ground balls, one goal and two assists. Villenueve ranked sixth in the conference with 1.86 caused turnovers per game.

Junior John Martin was named to the second team as short stick defensive midfield and finished ranked 10th in the NAC in league games with 4.00 ground balls per game. Martin finished the season with one goal, 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers as a defensive midfielder.

Junior Bryce Crowell was selected as the conference first team faceoff specialist and was named NAC defensive player of the week two times on the year and NEILA team of the week twice. Crowell dominated on the faceoff for the Mariners leading the league with a .709 faceoff percentage, 157 ground balls for an 11.21 ground ball average per game. Crowell added five goals and five assists and won 241 of 340 faceoff attempts.

Junior Finn O'Donnell collected first team defense recognition, racking up 37 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, adding one assist while anchoring a Mariners defense that only allowed 40 goals (8.00 goals per game) in conference games.

Freshman Davison Naylor also took home first team defense honors posting 11 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers on the season, while playing for a Mariners defense that allowed only 8.00 goals per game in conference matchups.

Additionally, sophomore Cy Lynam was named to the second team defense, talling six ground balls and six caused turnovers for the Mariners while playing as a primary defender for a team that allowed only 8.00 goals per game in conference matchups.

Senior Cole Michuad concluded the Mariners all-conference honors after being selected to the sportsmanship team.
