CASTINE, Maine – The Maine Maritime Academy women's volleyball team has been honored with the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The award recognizes volleyball programs that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA during the academic year. Maine Maritime is among a record number of collegiate and high school teams nationwide to receive the honor for the 2025–26 academic year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was established in 1992 to recognize teams that excel academically. More than 1,400 teams earned the honor this year, the highest total in the award's history.
