CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy volleyball program announced (day) the addition of Amber Maguire as its new assistant coach.

"I couldn't be more excited to welcome our new assistant coach, Amber, to the Mariner volleyball family, head volleyball coach Jessany Petricevic said. "Her attention to detail immediately stood out, but what excites me most is the genuine enthusiasm and energy she brings to the sport. She shares our commitment to working hard, supporting our student-athletes, and building the close-knit community that makes Maine Maritime so special. I'm excited to see the impact she'll have on our athletes and our program."

Maguire arrives at Maine Maritime after coaching both club, middle school and high school volleyball since 2023.

Maguire was the head coach for Wicked Northeast Volleyball Club and the head coach for Bucksport Middle School as well as an assistant coach with the junior varsity and varsity programs.

"Joining this program feels like stepping into the place I was always meant to be," Maguire said. "I'm grateful for the chance to work alongside an incredible head coach and a remarkable group of athletes as we continue the tradition of excellence."

In addition to coaching, Maguire has worked as a paralegal and administrative assistant in New York, California, South Carolina and Maine.

A native of Maine, Maguire earned her associate's degree from the College of the Sequoias and holds her paralegal studies certificate, certified personal trainer, certified holistic nutritionist and is a licensed real estate agent.

Additionally, Maguire was the rookie of the year at Daniel Webster College for softball in 2004.
