WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference announced its volleyball preseason coaches' poll on Thursday and Maine Maritime Academy was picked as the favorite.
The Mariners finished at the top of the poll with 49 points and all seven first-place votes.
Husson University finished second with 41 points, followed by Thomas College with 35 points and the University of Maine at Presque Isle with 25 points.
Vermont State University Johnson finished fifth with 23 points, while Vermont State University Lyndon tallied 15 points and Lesley University completed the poll with eight points.
The Mariners begin their season on the road at the Maine Coast Classic beginning with the University of New England on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
