CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy football program announced Wednesday the addition of
Will Hannum as its new tight ends and running backs coach.
"Will is a great addition to our staff and brings a tremendous amount of football knowledge and experience to our program," head football coach
Nick Sheehan said. "He understands what it takes to develop players, build relationships, and create a competitive environment. Just as importantly, Will believes in what we're building at Maine Maritime and the direction of this program. I'm excited to have him on board and know he's going to have a positive impact on our players both on and off the field."
Hannum arrives at Maine Maritime after working as a graduate assistant coach at New England College from 2023-25 coaching running backs, serving as recruiting coordinator and film coordinator.
Prior to NEC, Hannum served as a video coordinator, analyst and football operations at Massachusetts Maritime Academy from 2022-23 and prior to that was a student assistant and film coordinator from 2017-22.
"Excited to be a part of this staff and this growing team." Hannum said. "Can't wait to hit the ground running this season."
A 2022 graduate of Mass. Maritime, Hannum earned his Bachelor of Science in marine science, safety and environmental protection. Additionally, Hannum earned his Master of Business Administration from NEC in 2025.
