CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy football program announced Friday the hiring of Paul Boudreau as its new special team's coordinator and wide receiver's coach.

"Paul brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to our program" head football coach Nick Sheehan said. "His background at the highest levels of football, combined with his understanding of special teams play and player development, is going to be extremely valuable for our young men. More importantly, Paul is someone who understands what it takes to build a tough, physical football team. We're excited to have his experience and leadership as we continue to raise the standard of Maine Maritime football."

Boudreau arrives at MMA after working as an assistant coach at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2025 and the special team's coordinator with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2024.

Prior to his time with the Tiger Cats, Boudreau served as the special team's coordinator with the Winnipeg Blue Boomers from 2016-23 and was an assistant special teams coordinator with the St. Louis Rams from 2012-15.

In addition to his professional knowledge, Boudreau spent time as a quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator with Widener University, running backs coach at Mass. Maritime, wide receivers coach at Fitchburg State University and Central Connecticut State University.

Additionally, Boudreau was the special team's coordinator and tight ends coach at Brown University, served as a graduate assistant at the University of Cincinnati and was a tight end coach/video coordinator with Northeastern University.

A native of Louisiana, Boudreau earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Boston College in 1997.
