CASTLETON, Vt. — The Maine Maritime Academy football team fell to Vermont State University Castleton, 40-0 on Saturday at Dave Wolk Stadium.
The Mariners were held to 105 yards of total offense on 46 plays, including 14 rushing yards and 91 passing yards. Maine Maritime recorded five first downs and converted 2 of 4 fourth-down attempts.
Freshman quarterback freshman Harris Stone completed 9 of 24 passes for 91 yards, while adding four rushing yards on three carries. Junior
Auston Harris led the Mariners with 87 receiving yards on seven receptions and added 10 rushing yards on 11 carries.
Defensively, junior
Lucas Houghton led Maine Maritime with 12 tackles, including three tackles for loss, while junior
Matt Gagin recorded 10 tackles. Sophomore
Anthony Mazza Jr. added eight tackles, sophomore

James Boyer-Russell recorded six tackles and a sack.
Junior
Aidan Sullivan averaged 41.3 yards on three punts, including a long of 64 yards. As a team, Maine Maritime averaged 36.4 yards on seven punts.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Curry College for homecoming to open Conference of New England play with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
