WELLESLEY, Mass. — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team fell to Wellesley College, 2-0, on Saturday at Wellesley Soccer Field.

Isa Thesing made eight saves in 90 minutes, including two in the first half and six after halftime, to keep the Mariners within striking distance.
Junior
Hadley Stoddard recorded both of Maine Maritime's shots on goal. Stoddard put a shot on goal in the 13th minute that was saved by Wellesley goalkeeper Olivia Lore before forcing another save with a shot in the 26th minute.
The Mariners had several opportunities after halftime. Freshman
Kylee Cyr hit the frame in the 59th minute, while senior
Abby Wong followed with a shot that went high less than a minute later. Junior
Mya Engberg also recorded a shot in the 70th minute that went wide.
Wellesley broke the scoreless deadlock in the 53rd minute before adding its second goal in the 81st minute.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Sunday at noon against Mount Holyoke College.
