WATERVILLE, Maine — Maine Maritime generated several early scoring chances, but Colby pulled away in the second half as the Mariners dropped a 7-0 non-conference men's soccer decision Sunday evening at Colby College.
The Mariners (0-3-1) were led offensively by senior
Hunter Crea, who recorded a team-high three shots, including Maine Maritime's only two shots on goal. Crea tested the Colby goalkeeper twice in the opening half with efforts in the 10th and 34th minutes.

Reagan Moynihan played all 90 minutes for Maine Maritime and finished with five saves. Four of those stops came in the opening 45 minutes as the Mariners battled through sustained pressure from the Mules attack.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Maine Maritime created opportunities throughout the second half, receiving shots from sophomore
Piercen Fisher, senior's
Holden Nichols and
James Baur and junior
Garrison Fisher. The Mariners also earned a corner kick in the 77th minute.
Colby opened the scoring in the 9th minute before adding a second goal midway through the first half. The Mules scored five times after intermission, including a penalty kick in the 61st minute, to secure the victory.
Maine Maritime finished with eight shots and one corner kick, while Colby held a 23-8 advantage in total shots and an 11-2 edge in shots on goal.
The Mariners return to action on Saturday when they open North Atlantic Conference play against the University of Maine at Farmington beginning at 1 p.m. with their Morgan's Message Game.
