WENHAM, Mass. — The Maine Maritime Academy volleyball team fell to Gordon College, 25-17, 25-21, 25-14, in a nonconference volleyball match Friday night at the Bennett Athletic Center.
Senior
Ally Hadley led Maine Maritime with 14 kills on 46 attacks, while senior
Sydney Williams added 11 kills and a team-high 21 digs. Freshman
Faith Reed recorded 26 assists, three digs and two kills for the Mariners.
Sophomore
Hannah Tate contributed 16 digs and an ace, while freshman
Lyla Annen finished with seven digs and two assists. Freshman
Kelsie Murray added two kills and a block, and freshman
Jaslene Butler recorded one kill.
Maine Maritime totaled 30 kills, 29 assists, four service aces and 51 digs in the match. The Mariners opened with 11 kills in the first set and produced 10 kills in the second before recording nine in the third.
The Mariners battled throughout the second set, pulling even at 15-15 before Gordon closed the set on a 10-6 run.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Saturday for the final two games of the Gordon Invitational beginning with Wheaton College at noon and St. Lawrence University at 2 p.m.
