CASTINE, Maine — Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team scored twice in the opening half and added an insurance goal early in the second half to earn a 3-0 North Atlantic Conference women's soccer victory over the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday at Ritchie Field.

Maine Maritime opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Stoddard finished a feed from senior
Mayako Brown at 8:26 for her second goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.
The Mariners continued to control possession and doubled their advantage late in the first half. Stoddard turned provider in the 39th minute, setting up O'Leary's second goal of the year with 6:05 remaining before halftime to make it 2-0.
Maine Maritime put the match away in the 55th minute when Wong converted a pass from senior
Taylor Webster at 54:30, extending the lead to 3-0.
The Mariners dominated the attacking statistics, outshooting the Beavers 20-7 and holding a 13-4 advantage in corner kicks. Maine Maritime placed nine shots on goal while limiting UMF to four.
Stoddard finished with a goal and an assist for a team-high three points, while O'Leary and Wong each scored once. Brown and Webster added assists.

Isa Thesing recorded four saves to post the shutout for the Mariners.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Wednesday when it battles Thomas College on the road in a non-conference matchup beginning at 7 p.m.
