The Mariners improved to 2-0 on the season with the victory and head women's soccer coach
Levi Evans picked up his 100th career victory with the decision.
After a scoreless first half, Wong broke through in the 50th minute, scoring at 49:28 to give Maine Maritime the lead. Wong finished with four shots, including one on goal, and registered the game-winning goal.
Maine Maritime created several opportunities throughout the match, finishing with six shots. Senior
Hadley Stoddard recorded two shots, including one on goal, while Wong added four shots.
Thesing anchored the Mariners defensively, playing all 90 minutes and recording six saves to secure her first shutout of the season. She made three saves in each half.
The Mariners held the 1-0 advantage through the final whistle, with the defense protecting the lead over the final 40 minutes to pull off a complete team victory at home.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Sunday against the University of Southern Maine on the road beginning at 2 p.m.
