UNITY, Maine – Women's cross country placed three out of the top five runners to earn the team victory at the Unity Invitational Saturday.
Maine Maritime was paced by Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) who placed second overall with a time of 23:11.00 on the 5k course. Caroline Martin (Scarborough, Maine) placed third overall finishing with a time of 23:23.00. Olivia Osborne finished fifth for the Mariners, followed by teammates Elin Sonesson (7th, Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and Kristine Mehuren (10th, Searsmont, Maine) who rounded out the top 10.
Courtney Dotterweich was the overall individual winner for Unity College with a time of 21:59.00.
The Mariners combined for 18 points to clinch the team victory and the victorious pie for their efforts.
Maine Maritime will return to Bowdoin College next Saturday to run in the Bowdoin Invitational.
