BIDDEFORD, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country finished seventh out of 10 teams, with a team score of 229, at the University of New England Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Jessica Faltings led the Mariners with a 36th place finish. Faltings finished the 5k course with a time of 23:14, followed by Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) in 44th and Julia Dillon (Norway, Maine) and Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) who finished back-to-back in 48th and 49th place. Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) placed 52nd to round out the top five finishers for the Mariners.
Tiana Thomas placed first for UNE, with a time of 19:47, to lead her team to the overall victory with a team score of 19. The Nor'easters placed seven out of the top ten runners.
Maine Maritime returns to action next weekend at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
