Mariners Post Strong Showing at Bowdoin Invitational II

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Sophomore Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) led Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country to a sixth place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational II on Saturday afternoon.

Allen placed 43rd overall out of 75 runners with a time of 27:51.9 on the 6k course. Nerissa Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) placed 47th, followed by Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) in 50th, Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) in 54th and Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 56th.

Wellesley took the team victory out of seven teams, with a score of 27, placing four runners in the top six and Bowdoin's Sarah Kelley was the top finisher with a time of 22:30.7.

Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, October 1 at the Colby Invitational.
