James Steers Mariners at NCAA Regional Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) led Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country on Saturday at the NCAA DIII Regional Championships hosted by Bowdoin College.

James placed 275th out of 399 runners, completing the 6K Course in 26:40.59 to lead the Mariners to a 54th place team finish.

Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) finished 339th with a time of 28:27.84, followed by Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 364th (30:01.94) and Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) in 365th (30:04.80). Catherine Cornell (Portland, Maine) rounded out the top five for Maine Maritime in 377th place with a time of 32:29.77.

MIT took the team victory out of 57 teams, placing three runners in the top 12, with a team score of 87, followed by Middlebury in second, with a team score of 108.

Coast Guard's Kaitlyn Mooney claimed the top spot finishing the course in a time of 20:43.74.
