Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's lacrosse fell to New England College 19-3 on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Ritchie Field.
With the loss the Mariners fall to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in the NAC, while the Pilgrims improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Maine Maritime returns to action on Wednesday, March 28 when they host UMaine-Farmington at 4:00 pm.
The Pilgrims scored 11 unanswered goals in the first half and never looked back on their way to the victory.
Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) led the Mariners with a goal and an assist, while both Madison Savary (Bath, Maine) and Shelby O'Neil (Bar Harbor, Maine) grabbed goals. Morgan Libby (Brunswick, Maine) led the team with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Tara Bainbridge led the Pilgrims with eight goals, two assists, 10 draw controls, seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Giuliana Kevlin and Alana Scott each added hat tricks while Madison LaCharite tallied two goals.
Christina Wilson (East Granby, Conn.) tallied 12 saves for the Mariners in the loss, while McKenzie Gallasso stopped one shot in the victory for the Pilgrims.
