Series History: The Mariners are 3-0 all-time against the Hawks, including a 1-0 record when playing in Leicester. 

Last Meeting: The two teams last met on March 3, 2008 when Maine Maritime defeated Becker 11-7 in Castine.

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse defeated Regis College, 7-6 last Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Ritchie Field.

The Mariners struck first, when Jacob Belanger (Brunswick, Maine) tallied his second goal of the season, a man-up goal, on an assist from Zeke Tocci (Naples, Maine), but the Pride answered back early in the second quarter to make it 1-1. The teams remained deadlocked for most of the half, until Tocci tallied a man-up goal of his own with 38 seconds remaining and sent the Mariners into halftime with a slim 2-1 edge.

Maine Maritime came out hot to start the third quarter, scoring three-unanswered goals in four minutes to take a 5-1 advantage. The Pride battled back with back-to-back goals to cut it to 5-3 with 3:47 to play in the third. Maine Maritime's Max Barton (Yarmouth, Maine) gave the Mariners a three-goal advantage when he sniped a groundball into net following a save from Regis' Nick Penta in the final seconds of the quarter.

Ryan Richardson tallied his second goal of the game for the Pride, to open up the scoring in the fourth quarter, making it 6-4 with 10:15 to play, but Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) added a goal for the Mariners at 6:07 to keep the lead at three. Regis continued to battle and scored two goals in the final two minutes, but the Mariners secured the final faceoff and hung on for the win.

Wilson led the Mariners with two goals and assist, while Tocci ended the afternoon with a goal and an assist. Barton, Belanger, Evan Golembeske (New Milford, Conn.) and Sawyer Watson (Topsham, Maine) grabbed the other goals for the Mariners.

Jed Astbury (Bridgewater, Vt.) went 6-of-7 on the face off, scooping up a game-high six ground balls, while William Davee (Hope, Maine) scooped up five ground balls, and Nathan Granholm (Brunswick, Maine) and Alex Snowman (Sarasota, Fla.) scooped up four ground balls each.

Brian Wagner led the Pride with two goals and three assists, while Richardson added two goals and an assist and Brent Young recorded a goal and an assist. Jack Crater led Regis with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Garrett Ruszkowski (Saugus, Mass.) tallied his second win of the season in net for the Mariners, collecting 10 saves, while Penta collected 15 saves in the loss for Regis.

The Mariners went 12-of-16 overall on the face off, while holding a 33-26 advantage in shots and a 37-30 edge in ground balls.

Becker College's Last Game: Becker fell to the University of St. Joseph of Connecticut Blue Jays last Saturday, 14-6 in non-conference action.

Between the end of the first half and 3:26 into the fourth quarter, Noah Mocksfield scored five straight USJ goals, helping the Blue Jays to pull away from the Hawks throughout the game.

After Hawks sophomore Cameron Sangster scored to make it a one-goal deficit early in the second half, Mocksfield netted a man-down goal with 9:52 in the third quarter to give USJ a 7-5 lead.

Mocksfield then scored a pair of man-up goals over the span of 49 seconds early in the fourth quarter, as the Blue Jays began to seize momentum with a 9-5 advantage.

The Blue Jays outscored the Hawks 7-1 in the fourth quarter as USJ picked up their first victory in program history. Mocksfield scored six times in the second half in the 14-6 Blue Jays win.

Mocksfield scored three goals in the first half, helping USJ hold the lead for most of the first half as Mocksfield started the scoring 4:55 into the first quarter to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead.

USJ scored on a man-up opportunity later in the quarter that was followed by the Hawks first goal of 2020 by sophomore Chris Bullock Blue Jays freshman Evan Baden capped the first quarter scoring for a USJ 3-1 lead.

The sides split the second quarter scoring with three goals for each side. Mocksfield scored back-to-back goals over 42 seconds late in the half to give USJ a three-goal advantage, but Hawks senior Jack Schneider finished the scoring in the half, sending the Hawks into halftime trailing 6-4.

Six different Hawks each scored one goal for Becker on the day. Sangster had two assists to go with his second half goal. Junior Ryan Clifford finished with a game- and career-high seven ground balls. Senior Trey McMillen made 20 saves, second-most in a game in his career, falling to 0-1 with the loss.

Mocksfield added two assists with his nine goals, making him responsible for 11 of the Blue Jays 14 goals. Baden had three goals and four assists on the afternoon. All four assists for Baden were on Mocksfield goals. Freshman Trey McCann made seven saves to pick up his first career victory.

The Mariners: After two games the Mariners average 8.00 goals and 37.00 shots per game, while averaging 75.0 percent on clear opportunities and 50 percent on man-up opportunities. In the first two games, Maine Maritime averages 75.0 percent on the face off.

Jayden Wilson leads the Mariners with four goals and three assists, while Sawyer Watson has three goals and one assist, and Zeke Tocci also has three assists, while tallying one goal. William Davee leads the Mariners with 12 ground balls and Tanner Brown (Conway, N.H.) leads the team with five caused turnovers.

Jed Astbury leads the Mariners from the face off, going 13-of-15, while goalie Garrett Ruszkowski leads the team with 21 saves and a 72.4 save percentage.

The Hawks: After one game the Hawks average 6.00 goals and 25.00 shots per game, while going 59.4 percent on clear opportunities, 37.5 percent from the face off. The Hawks have not been able to convert on a man-up opportunity in five chances.

Six different players have one goal each, Cameron Sangster leads the team with two assists, Ryan Clifford leads the team with seven ground balls and Phil Garcia leads the team with two caused turnovers.

On the face off Ryan Gries has gone 7-of-22, while Donovan Tehan has gone 2-of-2. In net, Trey McMillen has collected 20 saves for a 58.8 save percentage.
