Series History: The Mariners hold a 9-8 record over the Eagles. On the road the Mariners are 3-5 all-time against Husson and at home Maine Maritime is 6-3 overall.

Last Meeting: Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse fought back from a four-goal deficit and held Husson University scoreless in the fourth quarter to capture a 10-9 victory in overtime on April 23, 2019 at Ritchie Field.

The Eagles scored a pair of goals to open up the game, but Alex Snowman (Sarasota, Fla.) tallied a score for the Mariners at 2:08. Husson built a 3-1 lead early in the second quarter, but Zeke Tocci (Naples, Maine) and Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) scored back-to-back goals for the Mariners to tie the game at 3-3 with 9:37 to go in the first half. Husson went on a three-goal run to take a 6-3 lead into halftime.

Max Barton (Yarmouth, Maine) tallied a goal early in the third quarter, but the Eagles jumped out to their biggest lead, 8-4, with goals from Blake Campbell and Zach Glazier. The Mariners used three-straight goals to close the gap to 8-7 but a goal in the final seconds of the third from Husson's Gunner McAllister sent the visitors into the final quarter with a 9-7 advantage.

Wilson and Tocci net goals to tie the game at 9-9 and the Mariners held the Eagles scoreless in the final 15 minutes, forcing overtime.

Sawyer Watson (Topsham, Maine) scored his 12th goal of the season with 1:22 remaining in overtime to send the Mariners to victory.

Tocci led the Mariners with three goals and an assist, Wilson ended the evening with two goals, three assists, and two ground balls, and Watson tallied two goals, two assists and three ground balls.

Snowman net two goals and scooped up two ground balls, while Oscar Kwok (York, Maine) led the Mariners with three caused turnovers.

Verne Rice tallied his first collegiate win in net for the Mariners with 13 saves and four ground balls.

Glazier led the Eagles with three goals, Chad Merrill scooped up a team-high eight ground balls, and Husson's goalie Matt Martin collected 14 saves in the loss.

Both teams scooped up 38 ground balls, but the Eagles held a slight advantage on the faceoff, winning 11 while the Mariners won 10 faceoffs.

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine last Sunday, 18-7, on Ritchie Field.

The Monks scored six-unanswered goals in the first quarter before the Mariners got on the board, with a goal from Jacob Belanger (Brunswick, Maine) at 12:22 in the second quarter. The two teams exchanged goals back and forth until the Monks scored a pair of man-up goals late in the first half, to take an 11-3 lead into halftime.

The Monks extended their lead to 13-3 with two goals early in the third, but the Mariners scored back-to-back goals to bring it to 13-5 with 3:37 remaining in the quarter. St. Joe's responded with back-to-back goals of their own to close out the third and take a 15-5 lead into the final 15 minutes of play.

Jayden Wilson and Caden White (Woodstock, Vt.) scored early in the fourth for the Mariners, but the Monks added three goals in the final minutes to secure the victory.

Wilson led the Mariners with three goals and an assist, while Zeke Tocci and White tallied a goal and an assist each. Belanger and Riley Morin (Harpswell, Maine) both found the back of the net.

Defensively, William Davee (Hope, Maine) led the Mariners with four caused turnovers and four ground balls, while Chandler Coombs (Brunswick, Maine) caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls.

Brendan Martin led the Monks with five goals and two assists, Max Lacy contributed four goals and two assists and Shane Puleo added three goals and four assists.

Jason Barrett led the Monks defensively with four caused turnovers and five ground balls.

In net, Maine Maritime's Garrett Ruszkowski (Saugus, Mass.) collected 17 save in the loss, while Michael Janocha tallied five saves in the first three quarters to earn the win for the Monks.

Senior Night: Prior to Saturday's game the Mariners will recognize their senior players: Max Barton, Tanner Brown (Conway, N.H.), Matthew Emery (St. Johnsbury, Vt.), Bailey Stockford (Mt. Vernon, Maine), John Stolz (Scarborough, Maine), Zeke Tocci and Sawyer Watson.
