Saint Joe's responded with a seven-goal run to take a 8-1 lead into the final four minutes of the first quarter, before Nathan Granholm added a goal to cut the gap to six.
Zeke Tocci (Naples, Maine) added a pair of goals for the Mariners in the second quarter, but the Monks added three goals to take an 11-4 lead into halftime.
