Mariners Cruise Past Cyclones

Box Score HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Hazel Stoddard (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) set single-game records for goals with 12 and points with 13 and surpassed her 100th career goal to lead the Mariners to a 22-2 victory over Centenary (N.J.)
 
How it Happened: The Mariners jumped off to a quick start with Stoddard scoring within the first 20 seconds to set the tone for the rest of the game. Maine Maritime ended the first quarter with a seven point lead. The Mariners continued to dominate in the second quarter, taking a 13-0 lead going into halftime.
 
The second half was more of the same action, with Maine Maritime sailing past Centenary with a score of 22-2.
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Stoddard tallied a game-high 12 goals and one assist, along with five ground balls and one caused turnover.
  • Olivia Harriman (Orrington, Maine) and Amber Card (Bowdoin, Maine) each added three goals, while Rebecca Caron (Naples, Maine) chipped in two.
  • Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.) and Aubrey Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) had one goal each.
  • Zaairah Lamothe and Antonia. Tucci each had one goal for Cyclones.
  • Kelsey Melton (Great Falls, Va.) recorded one save in net for the Mariners, while Chloe Neubauer tallied three and Jenyfer Pereira had nine for the Cyclones.
