NAC Basketball Week#5 Awards
WATERVILLE, Maine--Maine Maritime Academy senior guard
Erianna Moore (Fitchburg, Mass./Worcester Academy) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the NAC office announced Monday. Moore becomes the first Mariners women's basketball student-athlete this season to be honored with a NAC weekly award.
Moore averaged 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds during Maine Maritime's 2-0 week versus NAC opponents. She also led the team with four blocked shots and was second in both scoring and rebounding. The international business and logistics major also reached the 1,000-point milestone in her MMA career during a 68-44 NAC opening win at local rival Husson.
In that highlight game, Moore scored a game-high 19 points against the Eagles, finishing 9-for-14 from the floor to go along with game highs of five assists and three blocks. She also had two steals.
Moore helped spearhead a strong defensive effort as MMA held opponents to 45 points or less in two games, limiting them to 25.5 percent field goal shooting. The Mariners also had a plus-32 rebounds differential against Husson and UMF.
On the season, Moore ranks sixth in NAC scoring (14.7 ppg), 10th in rebounding (6.3 rpg), seventh in assists (2.7 apg), sixth in blocked shots (0.9 bpg) and third in field goal percentage (.440; 37-84).
