Women’s Basketball Announces Upcoming 2025-26 Slate

CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team unveiled its 2025-26 schedule on Monday, featuring 25 games — including 13 contests in Smith Gym.

"We are excited to open a new chapter of MMA women's basketball," said head women's basketball coach Craig Dagan. "We lost a lot of talent and leadership with the graduation of last year's senior class. That being said, this group of upperclassmen is determined to have another successful season while doing things a bit differently both on and off the court. The team has worked extremely hard in the offseason to put itself in position to compete for another conference title.

"We have another strong non-conference schedule with games against Bowdoin, Colby, and Saint Joseph's College," Dagan added. "We're also thrilled to head back to Florida in December to play two tough teams while we're there."

The Mariners open the 2025-26 season on the road on Nov. 12 against Saint Joseph's College of Maine before beginning North Atlantic Conference play on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 against SUNY Delhi and reigning NAC champion SUNY Cobleskill, respectively.

Bowdoin College visits Smith Gym on Dec. 2, followed by back-to-back NAC road matchups at Lesley University on Dec. 5 and Thomas College on Dec. 6.

Following the Thomas matchup, the Mariners host the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Dec. 13 before traveling to Daytona Beach, Florida, on Dec. 20 and 21 for the Daytona Beach Shootout against Widener University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, respectively.

Maine Maritime closes out the month of December at home on Dec. 30 against the University of Southern Maine as part of a five-game home stretch.

Vermont State University Johnson and Vermont State University Lyndon come to Castine on Jan. 5 and 6 for NAC matchups, followed by the University of Maine at Farmington on Jan. 10 and a non-conference contest against the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Jan. 12.

The Mariners then head to New York on Jan. 16 and 17 for games against SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Delhi before returning home to host Colby College on Jan. 20.

Following the Colby game, Maine Maritime visits the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Jan. 23 and Husson University on Jan. 24 before hosting Thomas College on Jan. 30 and Lesley University on Jan. 31.

The Mariners close out the regular season in February with road games at Vermont State University Lyndon on Feb. 6 and Vermont State University Johnson on Feb. 7, followed by their final home contest against Husson University on Feb. 10 and the regular-season finale at the University of Maine at Farmington on Feb.
