PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's golf team returned to the course Sunday, finishing seventh overall at the USM Husky Classic hosted by the University of Southern Maine at Riverside Golf Course.
The Mariners recorded a 323 (+35), while Southern Maine won the event with an even-par 288, followed by Husson University, Colby College, Southern Maine's B team, and New England College.
Junior
Mac McCarthy led Maine Maritime with a five-over-par 77 to finish 15th. Sophomore
Nicholas Villella carded a 79, and freshman
Xavier Bellerose added an 81. Junior
Brady Bumford posted an 86, while freshman
Nathan Baker rounded out the Mariners' lineup with an 87.
Maine Maritime now turns its attention to the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Oct. 11–12, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill at Cobleskill Country Club.
