CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse will be proudly represented by two standout seniors, Brendan Reddington (Meriden, Conn.) and Sam Nichol (Concord, N.H.), in the 2025 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star Game. Reddington will compete for the East squad, while Nichol will take the field for the West squad in this prestigious regional showcase.
Reddington, a First-Team All-Conference honoree, capped an exceptional senior season by leading the Mariners to their fourth consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship appearance and their third title in four years. The senior attackman tallied 35 goals and 54 assists for 89 points this season.
He concludes his career with 195 total points, including 93 goals and 102 assists. Reddington also recorded a .394 shot percentage, four game-winning goals, six man-up goals, two man-down goals, 69 ground balls, and 22 caused turnovers.
Nichol, a senior midfielder and First-Team All-Conference selection, was equally instrumental in the Mariners' NAC success. He recorded 49 goals and 9 assists for a total of 58 points this season.
Nichol finishes his career ranked second all-time in program history in points (238), third in goals (163), fifth in assists (75), and second in man-up goals (29). A two-time team captain and four-time All-Conference honoree, he was also named the 2025 NAC Senior Scholar-Athlete, the 2023–24 and 2024–25 Mariners Athletics Male Leader of the Year, and the 2024–25 Mariners Athletics Senior Scholar-Athlete.
"Brendan and Sam have been cornerstones of our success over the past four years," said Head Coach Brandon Melville. "Brendan's vision and creativity on attack made everyone around him better, while Sam's toughness, consistency, and leadership in the midfield set the tone for our team. They've both left an incredible legacy at Maine Maritime, and their selection to the NEILA All-Star Game is a reflection of their talent, hard work, and impact on this program."
The NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game provides graduating seniors one final opportunity to represent their institutions while being honored for their career contributions. A total of 46 players from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III colleges in the New England region were selected through nominations by head coaches and evaluation by a NEILA committee.
This year's game will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium, on the campus of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
