WATERVILLE, Maine--The historic season of the Maine Maritime Academy women's lacrosse team was recognized on Thursday by the North Atlantic Conference with three major awards and several Mariners on the all-conference teams. Senior midfielder
Hazel Stoddard was named the 2025 NAC Offensive Player of the Year, midfielder Kirra Magaña was chosen the NAC Co-Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year and first-year head coach David Keenan led the NAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
Stoddard was joined on the All-NAC team by sophomore teammates
Lillian Diversi (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner High School) and
Abby Wong (Irvine, Calif.). In addition, freshman midfielder
Caitlyn Lamb (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside HS) made the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

Mackenzie Morin steered Maine Maritime to a 12-2 overall record, its first regular-season title with a 6-0 conference mark and a runner-up finish in the NAC Tournament. The Mariners set program records for single-season wins, NAC victories, best home record (7-1) and on the road (5-1), as well as shattering the previous goals-against average benchmark of 9.57, set in 2017, with 7.00 this spring. Maine Maritime also put together the nation's fourth-longest active win streak (12) and second-best in New England, at one point.
Stoddard, who was selected six times as either an offensive (3) or defensive (3) conference player of the week this season, is a four-time All-NAC First Team choice and she repeats as the conference's (co-in 2024) player of the year. The Old Orchard Beach (Thornton Academy) product was by far the league's top scorer with NAC-bests 57 goals, 37 assists and 94 points. as well as No. 1 in shots (109) and 67 draw controls. The midfielder was also second--just one behind the leader--in ground balls with 43. On April 29, she became the first-ever MMA honoree to earn a Division III offensive player of the week nod from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Also a first-team all-conference selection a season ago, Diversi pumped in scoring totals of 49+15=64 from her attack spot to rank second in the NAC in goals, fifth in assists and second in total points. Her 15 assists were a career high as well as in ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (10). She also surpassed career milestones of 100 goals (107) and 100 points (133) during the season.
Wong was a pillar for the MMA defense by leading the NAC with 28 caused turnovers and she was tied for fourth with 36 ground balls--both career highs. She also notched a personal-record 16 draw controls as she also recorded her first two career goals against Thomas on April 12. She helped the Mariners rank first in the conference and 15th in the nation in scoring defense at 7.0 goals allowed per game. She picked up NAC Defensive Player of the Week on April 14. She caused at least one turnover in all 14 of the Mariners' games.
Magaña earns her second NAC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year citation in the 2024-25 academic year after taking the women's soccer mantel in the fall, The midfielder out of Miami, Fla., and Dr. Michael M. Krop High School, still tallied 13 goals, 24 points, 30 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers and 52 draw controls despite missing four games due to National Guard duty. She was honored as the NAC Player of the Week on March 10, and was 2022 All-NAC Second Team as a freshman.
Lamb contributed 10+5=15 scoring totals while starting in all 14 of the team's games in her debut season. She was the NAC Rookie of the Week on March 10 and 24. Lamb exhibits respect and courtesy to opposing players while playing hard, and she is very supportive of her teammates.
