Pease named head coach of men’s golf program

CASTINE, Maine — Maine Maritime Academy announced the hiring of Jeremy Pease '00 as head men's golf coach on Friday.

"I am beyond excited for the opportunity to take over the golf team and build upon the progress made last year," said Pease. "A solid foundation has been laid, and with a little hard work, I'm confident we can improve on last season's record. I can't wait to get started!"

After graduating from MMA in 2000 with a degree in marine engineering, Pease embarked on a career at sea before transitioning into education and coaching. He coached both boys' and girls' sports at the high school level, including golf from 2012 to 2019 in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

"Mariners Athletics is excited to welcome Jeremy Pease as our new golf coach," said Maine Maritime Athletics Director Bill Mottola. "Coach Pease, an alum of Maine Maritime Academy, has served the Academy in several roles since returning to Castine. At the same time, we'd like to thank Craig Dagan and Tony DeMuro for coaching the golf team during the 2024 season and leading the team to a successful third-place finish in the NAC Conference match."

Since returning to Castine, Pease has served as an assistant coach with the women's lacrosse program and as head coach during the 2021–22 season, as well as an assistant football coach during the 2023–24 season. He currently serves as the Academy's health and wellness coordinator, overseeing and teaching all physical education and aquatics courses.
