BANGOR, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's golf team finished eighth with a 334 at the Husson Invitational on Saturday at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
The University of Southern Maine won the 18-hole event with an 11-over-par 295, while the Mariners finished 50-over.
Sophomore
Nicholas Villella led MMA with an 8-over-par 78 to place in the top 25. Junior
Mac McCarthy and freshman
Nathan Baker each carded rounds of 83, while freshman
Xavier Bellerose shot an 89. Sophomore
Evan Duprey rounded out the scoring with a 95 in the Mariners' second tournament of the fall.
Maine Maritime will compete next at the UMF Invitational on Sunday at Waterville Country Club, hosted by the University of Maine at Farmington.
