PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's golf team took home the top spot at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Invitational on Thursday.
The Mariners carded their lowest round of the year, finishing 25-over 313 to edge the University of Maine at Augusta (320) and Husson University (321).
Freshman
Nathan Baker led the way with a 1-over 73 to claim his first collegiate win. Fellow freshman
Xavier Bellerose followed with a 6-over 77, while junior
Mac McCarthy added a 7-over 78.
Sophomore
Anthony Picano rounded out the scoring with an 85, and sophomore
Evan Duprey finished with an 87.
Maine Maritime returns to action at the USM Husky Classic on Oct. 5 in its final regular-season event before competing in the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Oct. 11-12.
