Hometown: Burbank, California

Major: International Business and Logistics

Anticipated Graduation Year: 2021

What made you come to Maine Maritime Academy?: My sister, sports, and being able to major in a strong field.

What first got you interested in your sport?: Seeing my sister play and wanting to be apart of a team.

What has been your favorite class at MMA?: Introduction to Business and Logistics

What is the best advice your coach has given you?: You don’t have to hold onto your past when there is so much to look forward to in your future.

What motivates you to succeed?: My team, my coaches, and my family.

What is your prized possession?: Soon to be my NAC championship ring!

What is your favorite book? (Non-academic): Dracula

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?: I can sing opera

What are your hopes for the future?: To become a CEO or high executive in a prestigious company.

What is your favorite spot in Castine/on Campus? Why?: It might sound nerdy, but I love the library. It’s such a great place to study and meet up with friends. It also has really cool features like a VR oculus and you’re able to rent out your text book (which has saved me a lot of money)!!

Tell us about something you are involved with here at MMA?: I’m involved with SLICE (Students Living in Christ Everyday). It’s an organization here on campus that allows Christians and even non-Christians to get to know God and develop or continue their walk in Faith.

What advice do you have for incoming freshman?: Make the most out of your time. College goes by fast. Take the time to go to school events and make friends. Also, make sure you’re in a degree you’re going to love.

What has been your favorite moment so far while playing at MMA?: Winning the NAC championship with my volleyball team. It was such an amazing feeling to share with this team and this school.

What are three things you have with you at all times?: My apartment key, a hair-tie, and my student ID.

Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?: Bethany Hamilton; her perseverance and tenacious attitude encourages me and reminds me that even in times of struggle and hardship you can turn to what you love to help guide you through it.
