Hometown: I do not have one. I am a military child, my parents have been in the military since I was born and I have moved around about every three years since being born. Thus I do not claim a hometown since I have not stayed any where long enough to call it a hometown.

Major: Marine Biology and Small Vessel Operations (SVO)

Anticipated Graduation Year: 2021

What made you come to Maine Maritime Academy?: I came to MMA for the hands on experience and the dual major (marine biology and SVO) that is unique to Maine Maritime Academy.

What first got you interested in your sport?: I have always enjoyed the water, and I do not remember a time where I didn't know how to swim.

What has been your favorite class at MMA?: Med-Care Provider taught by Professor Jefferey Boal.

What is the best advice your coach has given you?: "Don't get dead." and "Life begins at the end of you comfort zone."

What motivates you to succeed?: To have a good enough career to be able to be self sufficient in my life while also being able to travel.

What is your prized possession?: My beautiful cannon camera, that has pictures of all the places I have been to, sunsets, sport team photographs, old high school yearbook photos, and of course plenty of photos of waves of the ocean.

What is your favorite book? (Non-academic): Outlaw Platoon by Sean Parnell

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?: I can speak three languages, not fluently but enough to hold a conversation, read, write, and get around the country if need be.

What are your hopes for the future?: I hope to be able to do scientific research on a vessel and/or use my knowledge of marine biology and the few medical classes I have taken here and work on biomedical research.

What is your favorite spot in Castine/on Campus? Why?: Waypoint, it is a comfortable place that has everything I need to study, comfy places to sit, food, and a printer down the hall.

What is your greatest challenge?: Making my schedule for each academic semester, there are plenty of great classes offered at MMA that my major does not require to try and squish them into my schedule is a challenge, but a worthwhile challenge to be able to take classes like scuba diving, sailing, and any of the three medical classes offered at MMA.

What are three things you have with you at all times?: Phone, headphones, and a pencil.
